A person can enroll in the first year of undergraduate studies with a completed high school education of four years and a passed entry exam. The ranking of candidates for enrollment in the first year of studies is determined on the basis of grades during high school education and the results accomplished at the entry exam.
Curriculum and syllabus
The curriculum and syllabus are based on the adopted principles of the Bologna Declaration as well as on curricula and syllabi of European dental schools. The studies last for 5 school years and they are organized in a total of 15 trimesters. The curriculum and syllabus are defined by applying the standards and principles of the Bologna Declaration (as the basis for integration of our own educational system into the system of the European Union). The curriculum and syllabus of the Faculty are in accord with the capabilities of our students to master the required knowledge with the help of latest technical and technological achievements in the field. In that way, the students achieve a high level of knowledge in the field of stomatology. The number of subjects and the quality of teaching for each subject are in complete accord with the needs of practical work and university-level education and provide an educational experience of the highest quality.

Structure of the study programme
The goal of the programme of studies for Integrated academic studies of stomatology is educating graduate stomatologists – doctors of stomatology, who will be able to satisfy the needs of the labor market with the quality of their education, both in public and privately-owned sectors in our country. We are having in mind that only highly educated expert professionals can contribute to the further development of stomatology and the improvement and modernization of work techniques in the field, with the ultimate goal being perseverance and improvement of standards of oral health, as well as general health of the populace. At the same time, by educating these professionals, the Faculty of Stomatology in Pančevo contributes to the goal of enlarging the number of highly educated citizens in the country.
The final outcome of Integrated academic undergraduate studies of stomatology is that graduate doctors of stomatology are enabled to individually establish their own practices and that they are competent at performing all stomatological procedures, on the level of general stomatology, and also, that it is possible for them to continue education at specialist academic studies or doctoral studies of stomatology, while constantly being involved in science and research work. After the completion of studies and defense of thesis, the student is given an academic title in the field – DOCTOR OF STOMATOLOGY.
Conditions of enrollment on the Integrated academic studies of stomatology are: completed gymnasium or high school of four years, as well as a passed entry exam on the subjects of Biology and Chemistry. Candidate ranking criteria – the rankings are determined on the basis of obtained high school grades (maximum of 40 points) and the results of the entry exam (maximum of 60 points – 30 points per subject).
An overview of mandatory and elective courses, as well as their brief summaries for the programme of integrated academic studies of stomatology are given in the PROGRAMME OF COURSES.
Integrated academic studies of stomatology last for 15 trimesters – five years with a scope of 300 ECTS credits. All at the same time, thanks to lectures organized in trimesters the duration of studies has shortened, the passing rate for the exams has improved and the average grades during studies are better. The lectures are condensed, which calls for maximum engagement of professors and associates. The continuous work of students during three trimesters in a single school year enables the students to grasp the planned material and successfully finalize the process of having lectures. The curriculum of Integrated academic studies of stomatology is conceived in such a way that from years one to five, the student gains knowledge based on previous years of study, with the courses being organized in trimesters during each year in a logical order to obtain knowledge in the field of stomatology. During the first year of studies, the student is taught general knowledge and fundamentals-type courses related to stomatology, so in that way gains necessary knowledge for further learning.During the second year of studies, the student is taught clinical and preclinical stomatological courses, which enables him to learn about clinical subjects of stomatology. During the third year of studies, the student is taught preclinical stomatology courses, as well as fundamental clinical stomatology courses. During the fourth year of studies, the student attends clinical stomatology courses, which enable him to work with patients independently and introduce him to science and research work. At the fifth year of studies, the student acquires knowledge necessary to work with patients independently and is trained to work in science and research.
Work in small groups, particularly important for courses of clinical stomatology, is achieved through an appropriate system of course organization, so that each student has their own workplace (dental chair) and patient, and in addition, to attending and completing a required number of practical work courses, lectures and study research work, it is required that they fulfill the obligations of an appropriate programme in terms of fully completed stomatological procedures (diagnoses and therapies – conservative, surgical, prosthetic), which calls for different workloads during teaching.
Each year of studies is worth 60 ECTS credits.
